I’m touching up the paint on my car to cover up some of its nicks and dings. At the moment, my final coat of paint is drying but I don’t know how many coats of the finishing clear coat I should do. How many clear coats should I use to finish my car’s paint job?

Awesome work on fixing those nicks and dings!
When it comes to applying the final clear coat, after having finished with the paint job, three to four clear coats are generally recommended.
Make sure to let the layers dry for at least 20 minutes before applying the next clear coat, and let the final layer dry overnight

My expertise lies in the realm of car insurance, car loans, vehicle maintenance and repair, as well as comprehensive knowledge about various car-related topics.
When it comes to car insurance, understanding the factors affecting rates and the different types of coverage available is crucial. Factors such as driving history, location, the type of car being insured, and the desired coverage all play a role in determining insurance premiums. I can detail the workings of full coverage versus liability-only policies and explain the nuances of comparing quotes and finding the best possible rates.
Regarding car loans, I can delve into the intricacies of refinancing, credit score requirements, and the process involved in securing a loan, whether for a dealership purchase or a private sale. Knowing how to save money on car loans and understanding the implications of making extra payments on the loan principal are also areas where I can offer insights.
As for vehicle repairs and maintenance, I can provide estimates for common services like oil changes, brake pad replacements, battery replacements, and more. Understanding the average costs for these services helps in budgeting and avoiding unnecessary expenses. Additionally, I can offer advice on how to identify certain car issues, interpret warning signs, and know when a mechanic might be taking too long with a repair.
