Steph Curry is on the verge of inking one of the largest apparel contracts in NBA history.
The four-time NBA champion is in the final stages of signing a lifetime agreement with Under Armour that will pay out more than $1 billion, according to Rolling Stone. The deal is an extension and major raise of his current contract, which was slated to be up in 2024.
The partnership’s value would reportedly be as high as those of Michael Jordan and LeBron James, both of whom have endorsem*nts with Nike.
Like the two other NBA stars, Curry has his own brand of apparel with Under Armour. This deal would include a more expansive line, similar to “Jordan Brand” at Nike.
Curry first joined Under Armour’s roster in 2013, after defecting from Nike. He reportedly started with a deal slightly below $4 million. He almost left the brand in 2018, but ultimately stuck with it.
His previous contract reportedly paid out about $20 million a year.
