You can turn off the status lights on your Nest Wifi and Google Wifi devices, or change their brightness levels.

Turn off or change status light brightness

  1. Open the Google Home app Turn off lights or change light brightness (1).
  2. Tap Favourites Turn off lights or change light brightness (2) or Devices Turn off lights or change light brightness (3)
  3. Tap and hold your device's tile.
  4. At the top right, tap SettingsTurn off lights or change light brightness (4). For some Wifi points, you might also need to tapLights.
  5. Under 'Status light brightness', choose abrightness level.

Adjust the volume and brightness of your Nest Wifi point

Turn up the volume
  • Tap on the right side of the Nest Wifi point.
  • For maximum volume, tap the right side 10 times.

Note: This only adjusts the volume of media and your Google Assistant. At volume level 0, all media will be muted but your Google Assistant will still speak at a minimum level. Adjusting the Google Assistant media volumedoesn't adjust the volume of alarms and timers.

Turn down the volume

Tap on the left side of the Nest Wifi point.

10 total taps will mute all audio except your Google Assistant.

Note: This only adjusts the volume of media and your Google Assistant. At volume level 0, all media will be muted but your Google Assistant will still speak at a minimum level. Adjusting the Google Assistant and media volumedoesn't adjust the volume of alarms and timers.

  3. Tap and hold your device's tile.
  4. Tap SettingsTurn off lights or change light brightness (10)Turn off lights or change light brightness (11)Lights.
  5. Under 'Status light brightness', choose a brightness level, or turn it off.

Turn off the Google Assistant on your Nest Wifi point

You can turn off the Google Assistant at any time by following the steps below.

Turn off the microphone

Turning off the microphone prevents the Nest Wifi point from listening or responding to your queries. You can continue to use it as a speaker via cast or Bluetooth.

  1. Usethe switch on the back of the Nest Wifi point next to the power cable to turn off the microphone.
  2. You'll know that the microphone is off when the on or off switch shows an orange colour.

​Turn off the mute light on the Nest Wifi point

When the microphone on the Nest Wifi point is off, a glowing orange light will appear under the device. You can choose to turn off this glowing orange lightunder the device settings:

  1. Open the Google Home appTurn off lights or change light brightness (13).
  2. Tap Favourites Turn off lights or change light brightness (14) or Devices Turn off lights or change light brightness (15)
  3. Tap and hold your device's tile.
  4. At the top right, tap SettingsTurn off lights or change light brightness (16)Turn off lights or change light brightness (17)Lights.
  5. Switch on Turn off mute light.
