MIAMI HEAT
Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler donned an “emo” look with straightened hair, facial piercings, and black nails for Media Day. What statement was he making?
“This is my Halloween.” That’s what Jimmy Butler told Miami Heat teammate Bam Abedayo when he was messing with him for having his hair so long and wearing a lip ring. It’s true that it’s not the first time Butler has chosen a unique look for Media Day and used his hair as a way to express himself. Last year, he showed up with new dreadlocks.

"When I come back after the All-Star break, I’m going to have dreads and everybody is going to have to use that picture again."

This year, it was an “emo” look as he had his long hair straightened, wore a lip, nose, and eyebrow piercing, and painted his fingernails black. “I’m emo,” Butler said. “This is my emotional state. I’m one with my emotions. So this is what you get.”
In the offseason, the Heat really thought they were going to acquire Damian Lillard from the Portland Trail Blazers, but he ended up being traded to the Milwaukee Bucks to play with Giannis Antetokounmpo instead of with Butler. Clearly, Jimmy is not over it just yet.
